Joseph Feaster

Joseph D. Feaster arrived at Northeastern University in 1967 to attend the newly-created College of Criminal Justice, graduating with a degree in Political Science in 1972. He subsequently received his Juris Doctor from the School of Law in 1975.

Upon graduation, Joseph accepted a position at the National Labor Relations Board, holding a number of positions in state and local government. In 1985 he founded Feaster Enterprises which is a strategic planning, organizational development, and community outreach consulting firm. Joseph's current practice is with McKenzie & Associates, P.C., which is widely recognized as one of Boston's most successful minority-owned law firms.

Joseph is very active in the community, generously volunteering his time among a number of organizations. He is the former president of the Boston branch of the NAACP; a current director of the National Lawyers for Civil Rights Under Law and past steering committee co-chair of its local affiliate; a member of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association; and past chairman of the Dimock Community Health Center.

At Northeastern, Joseph has served as a member of the corporation since 1979 and a member of the board of overseers from 1987 through 2007. He is also a member of the Frank Palmer Speare Society and a former president of the NUSL Alumni Association.

Joseph and his wife, Phyllis, reside on Boston's South Shore. They are the parents of, Aalana, a Double Husky like her father, and the late Joseph III, a Northeastern student at the time of his passing.
